Darnisa Amante

Dr. Darnisa Amante, as an educational and racial equity strategist, is deeply committed to the study of culture; innovation; and experiential ways to transform organizational and school culture on issues of racial equity. Since earning her master’s degree in Anthropology from Brandeis University, and her doctorate from Harvard’s Educational Leadership Doctorate (Ed.L.D.), Dr. Amante has honed her knowledge of culture and transforming cultures to build capacity in racial equity, parent engagement and design and implementation of equity-based initiatives for leaders, students, and parents and leaders.

Lizz Albany is a biracial Mohawk Irish woman with a passion for making the world a little better each day. With a bachelor’s in Brain and Cognitive Science from MIT, she has always been curious about how people think, question, and make decisions. From her perspective, this interest is incredibly relevant to her other passion, education. The overlap between these fields led her to Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she is earning her Master’s of Education in Mind, Brain, and Education. This experience has been incredibly self-reflective for her, leading her to explore her biracial identity more explicitly for the first time. Through this self-exploration, coupled with the current events in our country, she has discovered a deep calling toward equity work, seeing it as the key to making the world a little better, in a lasting way, for everyone. As DEEP’s Director of Operations, she is responsible for translating the DEEP culture into practice. Lizz thinks through operations, operationalizing DEEP vision, and expanding DEEP’s portfolio through organization. Secondary responsibilities include daily operation of our company.

Director of Curriculum and Education / Co-Founder

With over 9 years of experience teaching in the classroom and serving as a socio-emotional learning (SEL) facilitator, Daisy deeply believes in the power of uniting people from diverse backgrounds and providing experiential opportunities for meaningful community building. After earning her undergraduate degree early at the University of California, Berkeley, in ethnic studies and international relations, she lived abroad in Nicaragua where she taught leadership and environmental education. She continues to work in Central America twice a year with global student workshops through the World Leadership School. Daisy has her master’s degree in education from St. Mary’s College and her Montessori certifications for 1st-12th grade. Currently at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education, Daisy is studying educational leadership in dismantling systemic racism and creating equitable opportunities for all students. As DEEP’s Director of Equity Curriculum and Education she is, first and foremost, the holder of the practice, the toolkit, and the workshop impact.
